If you never exercise before your pregnancy, it is not too late to start during your pregnancy. However, you want to start very slowly. Never over exert yourself.
But, if you have exercised regularly before your pregnancy, you can still maintain your fitness program by reducing the intensity in your exercise. The key is to listen to your body. If you start feeling too exhausted, it is time to take a break. Avoid exercises that may involve heavy lifting. If you are doing weight training, it should emphasize improving tone. Never lift anything that will put pressure on your lower back muscles.
Wear comfortable clothing and footwear during your exercise. There are a lot of cool clothes that you can find at the local supermarket. The key is to find clothes that are not too tight for your stomach. Furthermore, your footwear should strongly support your ankle.
Don’t forget to drink water when you exercise. Always keep yourself hydrate with plenty of water, especially in the hot climate. However, if the weather is extremely hot, it may be best to wait.
Avoid exercise that might involve laying flat on your back during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of your pregnancy, because it will decrease your blood flow to the baby.
